In September 2011, Palmer DePaulis, Executive Director, Department of Human Services, chartered a Strategic Planning Committee to develop recommendations for the future direction and mission of the Utah Developmental Center (USDC). The Committee was composed of individuals representing various constituencies of the disability community. They worked diligently to tackle difficult issues and developed with a set of comprehensive and exciting draft recommendations.

Lana Stohl Named Substance Abuse and Mental Health Director
Assistant Director for the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH), Lana Stohl, was named DSAMH Director on Monday, October 18, 2010. Stohl’s work experience in the field of mental health and substance abuse spans more than 30 years and includes administrative and clinical roles in government, community mental health and substance abuse treatment centers. Stohl has worked in both urban and rural locations in facilities and clinics specializing in senior services and adolescent residential and therapeutic foster care.
